Contrary to popular belief our work is not created by a team of woodland elves diligently wielding oversized chisels and whistling the day away in bliss. Ahh...if only that were true....

At every show people would ask if he could carve lettering in the stone as well as imagery and Lee soon realised that people desired a more practical as well as artistic product. At this point he began to produce memorials and signs. Equipped with a background in art bringing a sensitivity towards the aesthetic he found instant success in this enduring medium.

Lee's philosophy towards his work is to envision the piece as if it were his own. Attention to every detail, including the depth of the carve, the choice of font, to the colouring of the natural stone lead to a product of uncompromising quality. Careful adherence to design principles help to ensure a timeless perfection. For example, the amount of space between the border of the piece and the artwork or lettering within plays an integral role in aesthetic success. Negative space is just as important as the positive(ie. the carving itself.) Lee's passion for these principles is evident in every stone he carves.

Our work is also sensitive to the needs of our client. A sign should reflect the owner's pride, personality and integrity. There is a distinct sense of permanence and prestige that only a quality stone sign can convey.
